Finding out How to Do Taxes Now That I Am Married

I got married last June, which is wonderful. However, I have always done my own taxes and now I am not so sure about it. I am not sure whether we should file jointly or separately and if we get a marriage tax credit or not. I know that if we file jointly then we have higher tax rates or something. If you end up filing jointly, then you always have to file that way from my understanding. I have been a bit confused about this so I have been searching for information online. I figure that there are probably pros and cons to both options. So I want to know which one will be the best for both of us. While I would like to maximize our return, I am sure that there are reasons why people file separately as well. For instance if you file separately, you will not be responsible for the other persons debts I believe. Anyways I think it may take me a bit to figure it out.

If you are looking into getting your taxes done a little early this year make sure you know of the tax credits that you qualify for. For example if you’re married then you are eligible for one of the biggest tax cuts available in America. This is simply called the marriage tax credit, and is available to anyone who has been married in the past year. This tax credit will qualify you for a massive cut, and can lead to you getting an incredibly large tax return this fiscal year. I myself am able to claim this tax credit, they would definitely recommend it to you as it was able to double my tax return. It is very simple to file for this, as all you have to do is present your marriage certificate if you asked about the validity of your tax claim. It could get you a lot of money.
